FIFA Master Scholarships for International Students 2022-2023

Since 2011, CIES has offered a FIFA/CIES International University Network “Scholarship” to fund a FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management graduate’ participation in the FIFA Master.

The “Scholarship” in the sum of CHF 45,000.00 is designed to pay the FIFA Master registration costs as well as all or part of the beneficiary’s living expenses (in particular, lodging, travel expenses, and so on) associated with his or her participation in the FIFA Master.






Criteria for the award

Students that meet the following conditions are eligible to apply for the FIFA Master Scholarship 2022:

The student must have completed the FIFA/CIES International Programme in Sports Management and received the relevant diploma/certificate (independent of the year in which the corresponding diploma/certificate was issued).

The student must have fulfilled all of his or her financial commitments to the university where he or she received the diploma or certificate.

The student must also meet the other requirements outlined in the FIFA Master’s guidelines. These are some of the criteria: A university degree, strong command of the English language (spoken, written, and understanding), and professional experience are all required of the student.

The method for awarding and receiving the Scholarship

The FIFA Master Scholarship Regulations contain information about the scholarship award process.

The Beneficiary’s Commitments

The recipient agrees to do the following:

If he is offered another scholarship to fund his participation in the FIFA Master, he must immediately notify CIES.

During each FIFA Master module, publish at least two articles about the FIFA Master’s recreational and academic activities. CIES and other entities may publish these articles if they so choose.

Scholarship Award Determination

CIES makes its choice based on intellectual and economical criteria, based on the FIFA Master Scientific Committee’s suggestion. In theory, the decision is made by the end of March, just before the start of the FIFA Master scholarship 2022 U.S. Embassy English-language education and culture activities.

If CIES believes the applications do not meet the applicable criteria, it is not obligated to offer the Scholarship. The decisions of the CIES are final. There are no appeals that can be filed.

Promoting and expanding links between the FIFA/CIES Sport Management Programme (hereafter referred to as “the Programme”) and the FIFA Master, and

Increasing the visibility and appeal of the Program by reinforcing alumni’s sense of belonging within the CIES community.

On the recommendation of the FIFA/CIES International University Network, CIES has agreed to establish a FIFA/CIES Network Scholarship (hence “the Scholarship”) to fund the participation of a Program alumnus in the FIFA Master Class.

Article 1: Scholarships from the fifa/cies international university network

The Scholarship, worth CHF 45,000.00 (forty-five thousand Swiss Francs), is intended to pay all or part of the beneficiary’s living expenses (including, but not limited to, accom-modation, travel expenses, and other expenditures) related to his or her participation in the FIFA Master.

The number of Scholarships offered is determined by CIES each year.

The Scholarship may be divided into CIES.

The Scholarship payment terms are determined by CIES.

If necessary, CIES may ask the scholarship recipient for specific information about how the scholarship was used.

The beneficiary will not be given any additional funds.

If the Scholarship is not awarded, the appropriate sum will not be carried over or accumulated from year to year.

The scholarship recipient must attend the FIFA Master edition for which the scholarship was awarded (no postponement is possible).

CIES has the right to end the yearly scholarship award at any moment.

Because of the high level of interest in the Scholarship, CIES highly advises applicants to seek funding from other sources (public or private) so that their participation in the FIFA Master is not only dependent on the current procedure.

Article 3 – FIFA Master Scholarship 2022 Procedure

Article 4 – The Beneficiary’s Obligations

The FIFA Master Scholarships 2022 recipient agrees to do the following:

Complete the FIFA Master successfully.

Comply with the current regulations, as well as the CIES and partner’s norms and decisions.

The FIFA Master is a competition between universities.

Should he/she be given another scholarship to fund his/her participation, please notify CIES immediately.

Payment of the Scholarship will be suspended, and the beneficiary will be required to repay the amount received.
